Beaconsfield On Top Of Behaviour

5/09/2014
Beaconsfield State School have had their hard work and efforts in developing Safe, Respectful and Responsible students acknowledged and celebrated with their recently completed school, “Discipline Audit”. The purpose of the audit is to provide quality feedback on how the school is ensuring a safe, supportive and disciplined learning environment and to inform school behaviour management planning processes.
Each state school in Queensland over the last two years has received a visit from an external auditor who rates the school against five domains contained in the Discipline Audit Instrument. The auditor spoke with a wide range of people during his visit, including students, parents and staff. From his conversations with people, based on the evidence that he saw and heard, was able to make a judgement on how effectively the school was developing disciplined students. The school community were excited to hear that the Auditor was very pleased with the job Beaconsfield Staff were doing, as reflected in the school receiving a mixture of Outstanding and High ratings on the Discipline Audit Report.  (Refer to the full Discipline Audit Report on the school’s homepage within the Quick links section).
The Auditor confirmed these great results when explaining that the average school discipline audit report is usually a mixture of High and Medium ratings. Through the School Wide Positive Behaviour Program that has operated during the last two years, our school has had an unrelenting focus on teaching our students positive behaviour as we embed a culture and expectation of safe, responsible and respectful students at Beaconsfield. It is very rewarding to see this whole school focus has transformed our school into such a positive learning environment, filled with disciplined students.
