Choral Festival

Wow! What a night! It was a wonderful experience for sixteen students from Beaconsfield to be able to be a part of a just less than 500 member choir, when they performed in the annual Mackay District Schools Choral Festival. All the lunch time practices, Sunday and Monday rehearsals paid off, with an impressive performance from our students. There were new friendships made from other schools as well as catching up with some past students from Beaconsfield, the excitement of performing on the, "big stage" at the MECC and having family and friends in the audience to see our students showcase their talents. Congratulations to our students for being great ambassadors for the school, in particular Shae, who was interviewed on Channel 7. Mrs Pyatt was one very proud music teacher!

Principal Mr Smith also commended our very talented choral students and their dedicated music teacher Mrs Pyatt with a special congratulatory message: "Our choral students committed to many lunch time practices and a weekend rehearsal. They are to be commended on their effort and dedication. Special thanks to our music teacher Mrs Pyatt for training, organising and supervising this group in readiness for the performance".
