Kids Teaching Kids Conference

Senior students conduct an information workshop as part of the Kids Teaching Kids Science Expo.

Students from Prep to Yr 7 participated in the Kids Teaching Kids program by conducting an environmental science expo. For a number of weeks prior to the event, selected students prepared workshop activities designed to teach their peers about the most important message they had learned from their environmental unit this year.

The selected students then presented the workshops to their peers which included a variety of topics including: reusing plastic bags to make jellyfish, looking for macro-invertebrates to determine water quality, making seed cards and worm book marks. Students also tested their knowledge in a variety of games like the life-sized energy board game where the students were the game pieces, moving their way around the game board and also the adaptations ball toss. The science expo was a fantastic day of environmental science education with the presenters and participants both learning a lot about the presented topics.
