Life Education Van Visit

A Beaconsfield student getting to meet Happy Harold as part of the Life Education Program.
The Life Education Program motivates and empowers young people to make smart life choices for a healthy future. The Life Education van visited Beaconsfield for the first time in many years, delivering a life education program across all year levels over a number of days. The Life Education Van return brought back memories for many, as parents who saw the van were heard to be reminiscing about their own visit to the van and seeing “Happy Harold” many years ago when they were in primary school.
A parent workshop held earlier in the week was popular, as parents were given the opportunity to discover what their children would be learning about during their visit to the van.
The program covered a wide range of topics including: human body systems, safety with medicine, passive smoking, cybersafety, dangers of smoking, social peer pressure (drugs and social media).
The program also complemented the HPE curriculum unit that would be taught by teachers in the classroom this term.
It was great to see the Life Education Van return to Beaconsfield and we look forward to its return in the future.
