Petero Civoniceva visits Beaconsfield kids!

Petero Civoniceva, Tyson Andrews and Brad Henry talk to Yr 4-7 students about bullying.
On Monday 11th February former Brisbane Bronco, Queensland State of Origin and Australian representative Petero Civoniceva visited Beaconsfield SS as part of the NRL’s One Community ambassadors program. Petero visited the school with Brad Henry (QRL Development Officer) and Tyson Andrews (Mackay Cutters Qld Cup player) with the trio speaking to Yr 4-7 students. The group were spreading the NRL’s “Tackle Bullying Head On” message, as they spoke of the importance of working together to ensure that bullying had no place in schools, the workplace or society.
Petero showed the students a very informative DVD on the topic and then helped the students identify the steps that they could take if they are faced with bullying in the future. The NRL’s One Community Carnival Program is being held over 28 days, involving 350 NRL players from 16 clubs, involving visits to more than 120 000 students from Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Samoa. The program is a great community initiative with the NRL supporting schools in tackling the issue of bullying.
