Whitsunday Voices Excursion

A published illustrator "wowing" the audience with her ability to  turn a stick figure into something magical.
Fifty-four students from Beaconsfield State School attended the 2014 Whitsunday Voices Festival.   The Year 3’s went to see Andy Wright, a storyteller who has been all around the world telling stories that are fun and humorous!!  Lots of laughter was had by all and the children developed a new appreciation for the art of storytelling.
The Year 4’s saw Mandy Foot a published illustrator of over 10 children’s books.  The students were amazed by her creative art skills and her ability to turn a stick figure into something magical.
The upper school saw Morris Gleitzman or Tiffany Hall.  Morris Gleitzman took the students on a journey through his book covers and the process he goes through with editors before deciding on a final book cover.   There were lots of laughs to be had, especially around his cover for “Bumface”.   Tiffany Hall was a very motivating and aspiring presenter, who had lots of valuable advice for our students around being resilient and motivated.
A big congratulations to our students for their exemplary behaviour on the excursion and excellent listening skills.
