In this section you will find information on how Beaconsfield State School provides programs and initiatives related to child safety, learning support, students with disabilities, guidance and counselling.

Child safety

Each year our staff utilise the services of our school adopt-a-cop and guidance officer to implement the "protective behaviours" program with our prep students.

Learning support

Our school is serviced by two specialist teachers of literacy and numeracy who work with students in all classes. Their focus is developing the literacy and numeracy needs of all students in the classes that they visit. They also play a key role in supporting teachers with further ideas as to how to further develop the literacy and numeracy needs of their students.

Guidance and counselling

Our school also offers a guidance and counselling service to our students through the staffing of a guidance officer who works in the school 5 days a fortnight. Our guidance officer offers invaluable support to our school community and is a very valued resource in our school, supporting the needs of our students, parents and staff.

Parent and community engagement framework

The department's Parent and community engagement framework helps students, schools, parents and the community to work together to maximise student learning and wellbeing. Research shows parent and community engagement that is effectively focused on student learning can deliver powerful outcomes (OECD, 2011).  Parent and Community Engagement Framework (PDF, 90KB)
